Downtown Hartville Revitalization Commission was pleased to announce the 2024 Ray Miller Hartville Trousdale County winner - The Hartsville Rotary Club, at the Goose Gala held on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Founded in April 1980 with Jerry Richmond as its first president, the club remains strong with over 40 active members. The club embodies the Rotary motto, Service Above Self, working tirelessly to uplift the Hartsville and Trousdale County communities.
The club’s commitment to improving lives is evident in its focus on youth-centered initiatives, and in just the past year, the Hartsville Rotary Club has contributed nearly $20,000 toward vital projects. These include the Hartsville Backpack Program, scholarships for graduating Trousdale County seniors, and support for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, benefiting young readers throughout Trousdale County. Rotarians take pride in hands-on efforts too, such as enhancing landscaping at Trey Park.
The annual golf tournament serves as their primary fundraiser, and the much-anticipated Rotary Father-Daughter Dance brings the community together each year. Join us as we congratulate the Hartsville Rotary Club.
Born in Dixon Springs in 1940, Mr. Beasley developed a strong work ethic early in life, spending his childhood helping on his family farm. After graduating from Smith County High School, he attended the University of Tennessee and in 1960 he married his high school sweetheart Carol Langford. The father of three children, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren, Mr. Beasley has built a legacy of community dedication. His career has included ownership of multiple businesses in Hartsville and Trousdale County, most notably Beasley Construction Company, LLC, through which he has contributed significantly to the local landscape with developments spanning from residential subdivisions to civic buildings.
Mr. Beasley’s contributions go beyond business; he has generously supported numerous charities, churches, and community organizations, firmly believing that “Every good businessman should give back to his community.” At over 80 years old, he remains active in both his business and farm, embodying the work ethic and dedication that are pillars of this award.
Please join us in honoring Lewis Beasley for his exceptional commitment to the Hartsville/Trousdale County community.

We are thrilled to announce our latest undertaking, the establishment of a Downtown Storefront Improvement Grant Fund, along with new outdoor holiday decorations and lighting to help create a more positive holiday atmosphere and establish Downtown Hartsville as a destination spot for residents and visitors during the holiday season. Proceeds from our upcoming 2023 Goose Gala slated for Saturday evening October 28 to 2023 will benefit both projects.
For more than a decade the Goose Gala was held at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Ray Miller, situated at the confluence of the Goose Creek in the Cumberland River. This year we will gather to celebrate and raise funds for our ongoing mission at another iconic Trousdale County location, the Parker Marketing Warehouse located on East Main Street, Hartsville.
By supporting our 2023 Goose Gala fundraising event you will be an invaluable part of the effort to revitalize Hartsville, the heart of Tennessee. Together we can ensure that this historic gem continues to thrive and captivate future generations. Thank you in advance for your consideration of a generous contribution or sponsorship, and for your unwavering commitment to the revitalization of Hartsville Tennessee.
